Today the Government published Lord Anderson’s stock-take of the Operational Improvement Review (OIR) following the 2017 terrorist attacks.
The report outlines the progress that both MI5 and the police have made in implementing the recommendations of the OIR.
In response, the Home Secretary Sajid Javid said:
Britain’s police and security services are the best in the world. They work tirelessly to keep us safe and the improvements made since the 2017 attacks will only serve to strengthen our response to tackling terror.
I would like to thank Lord Anderson for his thorough report and am pleased he recognises the progress that has been made.
We will continue to work with MI5 and the police to ensure our approach to counter-terrorism reflects the nature of the threat we face.
